"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'” John 8:12 (RSV)

Damage the Darkness™ -- Walk in the Light

A common misconception exists which makes the assertion that God is weak, and that He is disinterested in the affairs of men. Atheists and purveyors of satanic doctrines and practices are wont to convince their hearers that satan is a powerful being who can grant them the required skills and abilities to protect themselves from harm and to fulfill their worldly needs.

A broad spectrum of religious practices, doctrines and philosophies exist that are far less specific than the above, but that include similar beliefs -- and this kind of information is extremely common ithroughout our society.

The trouble with such beliefs is that they can tend to lead one into depression and despair; and both of these can be extremely dangerous. The world is filled with souls who are searching for meaning amidst a flood of depressing and discouraging information.

This constitutes the darkness that rules the present world system -- the darkness that can be defeated only by the power of the living God, by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Satan is a liar and the father of it. That’s what the scripture says at John 8:44. It’s not possible for the devil to tell the truth. This means that to believe anything that Satan has said is to be deceived -- and no one likes to be deceived. Furthermore, no one likes to admit they have been deceived. We find it offensive to be lied to or to be deceived.

Because of his self-deception, Satan was cast out of the Kingdom of Heaven, and was sent down to the earth. All his blessings were removed when he exalted himself over the Lord and His throne, leaving Satan with no power at all. The only power the devil can claim is his ability to deceive -- and that comes only by the willingness of the hearer to believe his lies.

God is all powerful. What does this mean? The Bible says in many places that all glory, honor and majesty are His, and that He has all power and dominion over all that exists, both seen and unseen. And He has given all power and dominion over into the hands of His son, the Lord Jesus Christ -- and Christ alone is the Lord of lords, King of kIngs, and the head of all rulership, now and forever. He is the source of all goodness, truth and light.

It is written that God is love, and there is goodness .. a sweetness ... and love ... in the power that comes from God -- and you’re not going to get that from satan.

We believe that to avail ourselves to the power of God is receive His love -- His goodness, truth and light. We receive these when we are redeemed by our faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 John 1:7 says, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

The desire to make a difference is as common as can be. Just about everyone wants to make a difference in the world. Many have made such a difference, some to the good, and some otherwise. Only time can reveal the ultimate effect of such efforts.

Adolf Hitler made a difference ... a huge difference. His rise to political power began with the desire to make a difference. But we see in this example that desiring to make a difference does not always work out for the good of ourselves or for our fellowman.

How, then, are we to know what we can do to make a difference that will work for the good of all? Only God knows that, and we believe that the best way to do this is to seek His wisdom, guidance and counsel. These things are found in prayer and in God’s written word, the holy scripture.

Maybe we can’t change the entire world, but we can Damage the Darkness™ that rules this world, by walking in the Light -- and Jesus is the Light of the world

We invite you to join us in our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of the world, and that if we walk in the light, we can at least Damage the Darkness™, because ...

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5 (RSV)

... and it never will.

In His Love,
